“Asidisi – Technical” Scholarship Programme 2026

The Ministry of Health & Mass Media in Sri Lanka has officially announced the launch of the “Asidisi – Technical” Scholarship Programme 2026. This initiative is designed to provide financial backing to local journalists looking to enhance their technical expertise and upgrade their digital media skill sets.

Programme Objective

The primary goal of this scholarship scheme is the improvement of facilities for technical access of journalists and the overall advancement of the technical skills of Sri Lankan journalists.

Key Details & Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following baseline requirements:

  • Target Group: Must be a journalist classified under the Extraordinary Gazette No. 2413/44 dated 05.12.2024, with at least two (02) years of completed service.
  • Age Limit: Applicants must be between 18 and 55 years of age as of the application closing date.
  • Accreditation: Candidates must hold a valid Media Accreditation Card for the year 2025/2026 issued by the Department of Government Information.
  • Course Status: Applicants must already be selected for or currently pursuing one of the approved courses by the closing date. Proof of selection or registration must be provided during the interview stage.
  • Past Beneficiaries: Previous recipients of the “Asidisi-Mass Media” scholarship are eligible to apply only if they have successfully completed their prior funded course.

  • Advanced Certificate in 3D Modeling & Animation

Note: Applications for technical media subjects outside this list may be considered subject to the official approval of the Ministry’s Secretary.
