Given the current situation, the government has decided to give government workers a day off every Wednesday starting next Wednesday (18).
Prabhat Chandrakirthi, the Commissioner General of Essential Services, announced this at a special press conference at the Government Information Department.
Wednesday is a holiday for all government schools, universities, and courts, as well as for government workers. He has also asked that private schools do the same.
He also said that the heads of government institutions are empowered to decide how many people should come to work on the other four days of the workweek. He also said that all state ceremonies will be put on hold for a while.
