Based on the Advanced Level examination results this year, the University Grants Commission estimates that only about 45,000 students who have obtained at least university entrance qualifications will be able to enroll in universities.
Based on this year’s findings, a commission spokesman said that 177,588 students satisfied the minimum requirements needed for university admission; the remaining students have the chance to apply to other government and private higher education establishments.
He also said the count is probably about 132,000.
While 29,244 students have failed all three subjects, 9,457 pupils have gotten outstanding marks in each one.
